What Do We Hope to Achieve?

The Kids Need Our Ward campaign hopes to prevent the closure of the Children's Ward (Ward 15) at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Our aim is to encourage Shona Robison, the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing, and Sport in the Scottish Government, to keep Ward 15 open as the closure of this ward will put children's lives at risk.

  Who's Affected By This?

This closure of Ward 15 will directly affect the following areas:

  • Renfrewshire
  • Inverclyde
  • Argyll and Bute
  • East Renfrewshire

Families in these affected areas, will now all be diverted to Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow (RHC).

What Can I Do to Help?

You can help in several ways such as signing our petition.

You can also help by getting actively involved with the campaign. If you would like to get involved then please contact us.

Kids Need Our Ward is a campaign to save the Children’s Ward in Paisley.

Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board has voted to CLOSE the children’s ward (Ward 15) at the RAH. The final decision on the future of Ward 15 now lies with the Scottish Government.

To help us prevent the closure of this ward, please email your objection to Shona Robison at shona.robison.msp@parliament.scot

This closure will directly affect Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, Argyll and Bute and East Renfrewshire, which will now all be diverted to Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow (RHC).

A move to The RHC is more than a simple inconvenience, it will have a huge impact on many family's lives.

The answer to good quality care is not huge centralised hospitals, but second to none local services. Increased ambulance response and journey times will put our children’s lives at greater risk.
